QUEST - Malawian Hip Hop Artist

Questicana - Superstar.

Quest is a well-known artist. His full name is Penjani Malata, based in the Northern region the mother is from Mzimba, and the father is from Kasungu currently based in Lilongwe. Quest is aged 22 and single.

 His nickname came from his real name Penjani, just a translation of his name in English.

Quest did his secondary school at Likuni boys from form one to form three and then moved to St. Peters in 2018, where he sat for his Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) exams. Currently, Quest is doing an online learning education at Vocal Training School where he is learning music vocals. 

To become a musician, Quest was inspired by the family he grew up in, particularly his brother who used to produce songs (producer) and sample beats.

 He focused on music and took it as his career while he was in secondary school.  He first went to the studio for the production of his songs in 2019.  He has been in the industry for about four years. 

Despite being a musician, he also does business. On the issue of suicides happening amongst youths like him, he said that the youth have to see who is important and who values them the most so that they can never be having depression and whenever they meet such circumstances, they just have to handle it no matter how bad it is rather than killing themselves,” he warned.

Traveling, watching documentaries, and composing music are some of the artist’s hobbies. He has no favorite food but he likes fruits like grapes. 

“Without my fans am nothing and I always try my best to give my fans the best of me and I also expect them to give me their best support. My fans should continue supporting their homeboy,” he finished.
