Art Dream Night Market Lights Up Museum of Malawi

Blantyre, Malawi – May 4, 2025

The Museum of Malawi was transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and culture last night as the much-anticipated Art Dream Night Market drew crowds of art lovers, creatives, and curious onlookers. The event, organized by the dynamic visual arts collective Painting With Chim, brought together an eclectic mix of visual art, live music, fashion, food, and craft under the stars.

Sponsored by Roots Magazine and the popular bar called the  Stakeout, the night market blended the elegance of Malawian heritage with the pulse of contemporary artistic expression. Artists  showcased their work in colorful booths nestled between museum exhibits and open courtyards, turning the historic grounds into a living, breathing art space. 

Live painting sessions, and interactive installations kept the audience engaged throughout the evening. The sounds of Afro-jazz, amapiano, and other different genres of music provided a musical backdrop, while food vendors served up local and international fusion dishes.

With its warm ambiance and energetic turnout, the Art Dream Night Market not only celebrated artistic talent but also hinted at a blossoming cultural renaissance in Malawi. Organizers hope to make the event a seasonal staple on the creative calendar.
